After what seems like at least a couple of ice ages, I’ve finally got this website back up and running.

A series of unfortunate events, including a hard drive failure and hosting issues, mean that I lost most of my old articles, and ever since I’ve been trying to recover them. However, I have come to realise that trying to recreate something to its former self is much more difficult than simply starting afresh. The quest to make it exactly as it was, mixed with the usual procrastination, insane workload, a pandemic, fatherhood and the relentless march of time means that I blinked and a few years have passed.

I originally started this site as a way to share the things I’m passionate about with the world – as well as an outlet for the more surreal mutterings from the squishy organ inside my skull. It was also a great excuse to practice my writing and dabble in different creative endeavours. However, over the last few years, it has become a source of ever-increasing frustration and a trail of broken promises to myself.

As such, I’ve decided to cut my losses and just go with it as is. This means I can start writing again whenever inspiration takes me, without feeling the need to put it on hold and file it away until the website has reached some nebulous notion of being ‘ready’.

I’m excited to dive back into a bit of creativity – a brief distraction from the madness of everyday life. I suppose the first step is to pour out all the bottled-up ideas into my trust cauldron, give it a stir and see what bubbles to the surface. I haven’t given up entirely on my old writing, so I’ll be sharing some things from the archives, just as soon as the resurrectionists have returned after a night of digging up my old notes (coffee stains and all), so they can be reborn into a fresh redraft!
